Day 2

Day 2

We met at 8:20 and went to Bath (Roman Baths). We learnt a lot about it and used audioguides. It is the only hot spring in England. The water fills the pool then goes into the river (Avon). The water contains a lot of iron.
Bath was invaded by the Romans.
After lunch, we walked around the city and we visited the Jane Austen Centre, we learnt about her life, her novels and characters and the status of women in the 18th century. Her father was a farmer and when he died, he left his family in a critical financial situation.
Some of us dressed up as Jane Austen’s novels’ characters. The costumes looked great !
After that, we saw the Royal Crescent and the Circus, the most famous and lovely touristic sites in Bath.
We finished the day with free time to do some shopping around town and we went to Sainsburys to buy typical English food for our families.
